Canyon National Park Service offers guided hiking or camping trips to the backcountry
through the
Grand Canyon Field Institute (GCFI). GCFI works in
association with the National Park Service to provide multi-day
learning events that complement the park's own interpretive
programming.

PRO provides equipment, shuttles and
food packs to private boaters with their own permits and
expertise. We specialize in noncommercial Grand Canyon River
Trips.
The Grand Canyon offers mule trips down to
the Colorado River and back up to the South Rim which is a two-day
trip. Overnight riders stay and eat at Phantom Ranch in the
Inner Canyon. The trip to Phantom Ranch costs $360.54 for the first
person, or two people for $641.57, and includes tax, accommodations,
breakfast, lunch and steak dinner.
A one-day trip is also
offered which goes part way to the river stopping at Plateau Point on
the Bright Angel Trail. The seven-hour day trip to Plateau Point costs
$132.88 per person and includes tax and a box lunch.
South Rim mule trips are
offered year round.
Mule trips may
have to be booked up to 24 months in advance during busy season.

One-, two-, and
four-hour trail rides and twilight campfire and wagon rides are

All scenic air tour operators are based outside of
Grand Canyon National Park. They offer both fixed-wing and helicopter
tours of the Grand Canyon region daily. The following air tour
operators are located at Grand Canyon Airport, just south of Tusayan.

Visitor services and facilities inside the
national park on the North Rim are only open from mid May to mid
October. For the 2004 season they will be open from May 10 - October
14, 2004.
North Rim mule trips do
not go to the river. One-hour rides along the rim and ½ day rim or
inner canyon trips are usually available on a daily basis. Full-day
trips into the canyon include lunch. Register in the lobby of the
Grand Canyon Lodge at the Grand Canyon Trail Rides desk; open 7am-5pm
