Big Snowy Mountain
Grandview Trail Trail climbs steadily then foll0ws the ridge to West Peak on Snowy Crest, the highest ridge in the Snowies.  Views of Crystal Lake and the plains From Crystal lake Campground take Shoreline Loop Trail following west shore of lake.  About a 1/3 mile, the trail begins climbing up the hillside to the left 3.2 miles
Crystal lake Shoreline Loop Trail follows the shoreline of Crystal Lake.  Opportunities to sunbathe, swim, fish and picnic.  From Stanford, take Hwy 87 east to Moore.  Turn right onto road to Crystal Lake.  Pick up the trail at the boat ramp or campground. 1.7 miles (loop)
Crystal Cascades Trail Easy trail that follows a creek to a waterfall with water cascading out of a cave.  The trail leads further up and joins Ulhorn Trail. 1. Follow Road 275 from Crystal lake Campground for 4 miles north.  The trailhead is at a switchback in the road.

2.Follow Ulhorn Trail from Crystal lake Campground.  After 1.2 miles there is a junction with Cascades Trail

Big Snowy Trail Connects Red Hill Road with summit of Old Baldy (Big Snowy), easternmost of high peaks in Big Snowy Mountains.  Summit provides 360 degree panorama of Big and Little Belts, Castles, Crazies and Square and Round Buttes. From Hwy 191 at Judith Gap follow County Rd 297 east 32 moles to Red Hill Road then 10 miles north.  8 miles
Neil Connection Trail Trail follows primitive road along foot hills of Big snowies from Brooks Coulee to Timber Creek, crossing East and West fork drainages of Blake Creek.  1. From Hwy 191 at Judith gap go 9 miles east on County Road 297 to Neil Creek Rd (Forest Road 8935) then 10 miles north on Neil to west trailhead in Brooks Coulee.

2.  From access No.1, continue east 4 miles to Timber Creek Road 270, then 6 miles north to eastern trailhead.

Neil Creek Trail Good views of Musselshell Valley, Craxies, and Beartooth Mountains.  Black bears are common in the lower 1/2 mile. 1 mile east on Neil Connection Trail from Brooks Coulee.  2.5 miles from trailhead to Ice Caves and 3 miles from trailhead to summit and junction with Ulhorn Trail.  Follows the road up Neil Creek for 1/2 mile.  From this point the trail is closed to cars for last 2 miles as it switchbacks up ridge to Ice Caves. 3 miles
Highwood Mountains
North Fork Highwood Trail Trail leads through meadows and follows North Fork to its headwaters and junction with Kirby Creek Trail.  rail then climbs over a saddle and descends in drainage of Cottonwood Creek and follows creek to Forest boundary. half mile west of Thain Creek Campground, North fork Road 8840 goes south, following the creek.  Trailhead is 1/2 mile up road. 5.5 miles
Kirby Creek Trail Trail goes through scenic meadows, following Kirby Creek up towards its headwaters.  Just before that point, trail climbs over a saddle and comes down to North Fork Highwood Trail. 1. Via Briggs Creek Trail

Briggs Creek Trail Day hike loop from Thain Creek Campground by going either north via Windy Mountain Trail or east via Briggs Creek Trail.  Trail climbs to a saddle joining Windy Mountain Trail, then descends to Kirby Creek along Grant Creek drainage.  Popular with mountain bikers. 1. Little Belt Mountains
Old Baldy Trail Excellent Trail into Deep Creek area.  Recommended season mid-spring to late autumn.  Trail is only a fair access route to reach either Smith River or Tenderfoot Creek.  Most of trail is along ridge tops and offers an excellent view of surrounding country. 2 miles east of Monument Peak on FR 268 to Daisy Spring. 4.6 miles
North Fork Deep Creek Trail Start of trail in Mill Creek is start of Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop National Recreation Trail.  Recommended season late spring to mid-autumn.  Trail access to Smith River and fishing in North Fork of Deep Creek. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to Mill Creek. 7.2 miles
Sawmill Trail Recommended season late spring to late autumn. 1.2 miles north of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to junction with FR 6416 to private land, .6 mile SW through private lands from the trail gate.  Access to trail is limited on both ends because of private land.  Only public access is via Ming Coulee Trail 7 miles
Ming Coulee Trail Upper portion of trail is part of the Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop National Recreation Trail.  Recommended season late spring to late autumn. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to Mill Creek and North Fork Deep Creek Trail.; 1 mile west of trail to junction. 6.9 miles
Temple Gulch Trail Trail ends at Forest Boundary north of Deep Creek Park.  Check with land owner before crossing.  Trail is steep and heads into South Fork Deep Creek.  Recommended season late spring to mid-autumn.  View from trail is limited for last mile. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to Mill Creek and North Fork Deep Creek Trail for 5.2 miles to South Fork Deep Creek Trail for .6 miles to Robertson Spring Trail for 1.8 miles to Parker Ridge Trail for 1 mile northwest to the junction with the trailhead. 3.8 miles
Parker Ridge Trail One of the few access routes to Smith River from national Forest.  Recommended season mid-spring to late autumn.  4X4 trail for first 2 miles.  Last mile of trail is very steep and rough.  Trail is in open country with good view of surrounding area. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to Mill Creek and North Fork Deep Creek Trail go west for 6.2 miles to junction with South Fork Deep Creek Trail for.4 miles south to junction with Robertson Spring Trail, go west for 1.8 miles to the junction of the trailhead. 4 miles
Bear Gulch Trail An access route to Smith River.  Recommended season - late spring to mid-autumn.  Trail crosses private land. 2 miles west of Monument Peak on Forest road 268; 6.2 miles west of Old Baldy Trail. 3.3 miles
Strawberry Ridge Trail Trail offers a good view of the surrounding country.  Recommended season late spring to late autumn.  Good access to Deep Creek and Smith River. 2 miles west of Monument Peak on FR 268 then go 3 miles west on Old Baldy Trail to the trailhead. 3 miles
Ming Sand Coulee Trail Short cut to Ming or Sand Coulee.  Recommended season late spring to late autumn.  .2 miles south from end of Ming Coulee Trail to junction. 1.5 miles
South Fork Deep Creek Trail Recommended season late spring to late autumn. 6 miles west of FR 839 and FR 268 past Monument Peak.  Trail junction is along FR 268.  It crosses back and forth across South Fork of Deep Creek. 5 miles
Robertson Spring Trail Trail is very steep and rocky.  Recommended season late spring to mid-autumn.  Upper portion of trail is located on private land. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to Mill Creek and North Fork Deep Creek Trail  for 5.2 miles to South Fork Deep Creek Trail for .4 miles to junction of trailhead. 2 miles
Blankenbaker Trail Recommended season - late spring to late autumn.  The trail is located in parks and meadows. 2.7 miles south of Logging Creek Campground on Forest Road 839 to Mill Creek and North Fork Deep Creek Trail1 mile east to Ming Coulee Trail; 2.8 miles northeast to junction of trailhead. 2.8 miles, heavy use by cars and horses
N Fork Crawford Creek Trail Recommended season early summer to mid-autumn.  Good day hike. 4.8 miles north of Neihart at Belt Creek Information Station.  Trail starts behind station and crosses back and forth across creek.  Please leave all gates as you find them.  The last .7 miles is across private land.  Permission is needed 3.2 miles
Cow Coulee Trail An access route to Smith River.  Recommended season late spring to late autumn.  Trail crosses private land and ends at boat camp on Smith River 2 miles west of Monument Peak on Forest Road 268; 6.2 miles west on Old Baldy Trail. 4.4 miles
Deep Creek Ridge Trail part of Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop national Recreation Trail.  Recommended season late spring to late autumn. 1.6 miles west on Forest Road 268 from junction of Forest Roads 839 and 268 to Monument Ridge Trail.  North 1.1 miles to trail.  Trailhead requires 4x4 vehicle. 3.2 miles
Monument Ridge Trail First 1.1 miles can be driven in a 4x4 or other high clearance vehicle.  Last 1.6 miles is very steep and rough, even for hiking.  Recommended season early summer to mid-autumn.  Trail is par of Deep Creek Figure 8 Loop National Recreation Trail. 7.6 miles north of Logging Creek Campground on FR 839 to junction with FR 268; 1.6 miles to junction. 2.7 miles
