Bedell Bridge State
Park, located along the Connecticut River, is 38 acres in size and a great
place for picnicking, fishing, or boating. A Fish and Game boat launch is
located within the park.
Bedell Bridge State Park is open from early May to mid-October and is free
to the public.

This
5,775 acre park provides access to numerous hiking trails, waterfalls,
fishing, wildlife viewing, and spectacular mountain views. Crawford Notch
State Park is rich in history with the famous Willey House. There are
picnicking areas, parking for hiking, scenic pull-offs, and a visitor
information center with a park store. Dry River Campground offers 31 wooded
sites, with flush toilets and showers.
The park is open from mid-May to Columbus Day.

River Campground offers a woodland setting, located in the heart of Crawford
Notch State Park. Flush toilets and showers are located in the campground.
Pets are welcomed in the camping area, but must be leashed and attended at
all times.
The 36-site campground includes 30 sites available by reservation, and 6
sites for first-come/first-served campers. Dry
River Campground has flush toilets and showers.
Reserved camping with full staffing and facilities will be available May 27
to October 10, 2005.
Reservations for the campground are highly recommended, and may be made by
calling the Reservation Office, Monday through Friday, from January through
the end of the season. Campers
interested in possible first-come/first-served camping on weekends only from
May 6 to May 26 should call the park directly in early May for further
information. After October 10, the campground is open with limited
facilities until December 1st. Late fall campers should be aware that there
is no running water in the campground during this time.
Hiking trails in Crawford Notch State Park includes trails to Mounts
Willard, Crawford, Carrigain and Isolation;
Arethusa Falls;
Ripley Falls and
Nancy Pond; the Pond Loop Trail,
Sam Wiley Trail.

Located
in close proximity from the shopping strips of North Conway, Echo Lake is a
great place to take the family for a swim and picnic. Amenities offered at
the park include a bathhouse and picnic tables. A scenic trail around the
lake provides great views of sheer, 700-foot Cathedral Ledge which towers
over the lake. A mile-long auto road and hiking trails lead to the top of
Cathedral Ledge where views across the Saco River Valley to the White
Mountains can be enjoyed. Both Cathedral and nearby White Horse ledges are
popular rock and ice climbing walls.
Echo
Lake State Park is open weekends and holidays only from late May; and daily
from mid-June through Labor Day.
Eisenhower Memorial

This seven-acre
memorial park, established in 1979 as a gift from the Bretton Woods
Corporation, honors the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Views of the
Presidential Range in the White Mountain National Forest are a short walk
away.
Eisenhower Memorial Wayside Park is open year-round but is unstaffed. It is
free to the public. Picnic tables are available.

Forest Lake State Park, one of the ten original state parks, was created in
1935. The park spans 397 acres and its 200-foot sandy beach lies on the
shore of Forest Lake. Popular activities in the park include swimming,
picnicking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating. Amenities include picnic
tables, flush toilets, and a group use area and playground.
The park is open mid-June to Labor Day.

Franconia Notch State Park, located in the heart of the popular
White Mountain National Forest. It is a spectacular mountain
pass traversed by a unique parkway which extends from the Flume Gorge at the
south to Echo Lake at the north. For eight miles, I-93 winds between the
high peaks of the Kinsman and Franconia mountain ranges.
Franconia Notch was the home of the famous Old Man of the Mountain, the same
"Great Stone Face" immortalized by Nathaniel Hawthorne and Daniel Webster.
While you are here, stop at the Flume Gorge Visitor Center and walk through
the renowned Flume Gorge, ride the exciting aerial tramway at Cannon
Mountain, and visit the New England Ski Museum. Take your time, stop for a
swim at Echo Lake, net a trout while fly fishing at Profile Lake, ride your
bike on the Recreational Trail, watch for rock climbers, hawks, and falcons
on Cannon Cliffs, or hike on the Appalachian Trail. Bring the family, stay
awhile, and enjoy Franconia Notch State Park.
The aerial
tramway brings
visitors to the 4,180' summit of Cannon Mountain in approximately eight
minutes. On a clear day, visitors will enjoy views of the mountains of New
Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Canada, and New York. At the summit there are
walking paths, an observation deck, cafeteria, and restrooms. Cannon is open
daily from 9am to 5pm, opening for the season on Friday, May 27 and closing
October 16, 2005.
The camping and hiking hub of the Notch is centrally located in the Park at
Lafayette Place. It
provides a great base from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming,
and many attractions in the White Mountains.
Information about hiking trails, safety, and the natural and cultural
history of the park is available at the cabin near the campground entrance.
A lodge houses a registration desk and offers a selection of camping
supplies. Each
campsite is wooded and has a picnic table, car parking, and an open
fireplace. There are coin-operated showers and a camp store.
Lafayette Campground provides 97 wooded tent sites - 88 are by reservation
only, 2 are for youth group reservations, and 7 are for
first-come/first-served campers. Reserved camping with full staffing and
facilities will be available weekends only starting May 27 until June 9, and
then full time to October 10, 2005. Reservations for campsites may be made
by calling the Reservation Office, Monday through Friday, from January

This 48-acre
undeveloped park is easy to get to on Route 25C in Piermont. Lake Tarleton,
at 315 acres, offers an unguarded swimming beach and opportunities for
fishing and hunting in season. A N.H. Fish and Game boat launch is available
less than a quarter mile from the park. Bring a blanket for picnicking in
spectacular surroundings - the higher elevation of the park offers beautiful
views of the White Mountain National Forest across the lake.
The park is open year-round at no charge but is unstaffed. It is free to the
public.

Located in the White Mountains Region, just north of the Presidential Range,
Moose Brook State Park is in an area of unparalleled scenery and offers a
variety of outdoor activities. The park is ideally located for fishing in
the Peabody and Moose rivers. Moose Brook flows through the park, and after
passing through a shallow warming pool, feeds the swimming area with cool,
clear mountain water. Picnicking and swimming are enjoyed against the scenic
mountain backdrop. The many trails in the park are great for exploring on
foot or mountain bike.

Mount Washington State Park, a 59-acre parcel perched on the summit of the
Northeast's highest peak, is surrounded by the extensive 750,000-acre White
Mountain National Forest. On a clear day, views from the 6,288-foot summit
extend beyond New Hampshire as far as 130 miles to Vermont, New York,
Massachusetts, Maine, Quebec, and the Atlantic Ocean. A modern summit
building houses a cafeteria, restrooms, gift shops, the Mount Washington
Observatory and its museum. The historic TipTop House is located adjacent to
the summit building and is open to guests when staff is available.
Admission to the Tip Top House is free. The operation schedule of the park
is 8am - 8pm from early May to early October (weather permitting).

Androscoggin Wayside
Park is located along the Androscoggin River and lies within the Thirteen
Mile Woods. It is a scenic spot for picnicking and fishing, and a favorite
for canoeing.
The park is open year-round and is free to the public.
Beaver Brook
Falls Wayside is 7.3 acres in size and is a popular place for hiking. The
Park has a scenic picnic area with picnic tables and small picnic shelters.
A group use area is also available.

Coleman State Park lies on the shore of Little Diamond Pond in Stewartstown,
twelve miles east of Colebrook in New Hampshire's remote north country. The
excellent trout fishing in Little Diamond Pond and nearby streams makes
Coleman an excellent location for fishing enthusiasts. A boat launch is
located within the park; small boats are permitted, but speed is restricted.
It is also a good base for fall hunting. Other activities offered at the
park include hiking, canoeing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. The
park is the northern terminus of the Androscoggin Trail, a hiking path that
extends 55 miles south to Berlin.
The
primitive campground at Coleman State Park offers 24 campsites, available by
reservation only. Reserved camping with full staffing and facilities will be
available from May 27 to October 10, 2005. Reservations for campsites may be
made by calling the Reservation Office, Monday through Friday, from January
through the end of the season. Campers interested in possible
first-come/first-served camping from May 13 to May 26 should call the park
directly in early May for further information.
Many of the sites can accommodate most camping equipment including
self-contained recreational vehicles with a maximum length of 35 feet;
hook-ups are not available. Flush toilets, coin-operated showers, along with
pit toilets, a playground, and a dump station are available. Late fall
campers should be aware that there is no running water in the campground
from mid-October for the remainder of the season.

Dixville Notch State Park spans 127 acres. Within the park is a scenic gorge
and waterfalls on two mountain brooks. Hiking trails lead to
Table Rock
and
nearby mountains. The park is also a great spot for picnicking. Dixville
Notch State Park is open year-round and is free to the public.

Lake
Francis is a 2,000 acre lake in the Connecticut Lakes region of the Great
North Woods. Hunters and anglers enjoy this park as a base for their
respective activities. A boat launch is located in the day-use area of the
park. Canoeists enjoy exploring the upper part of the Connecticut River.
The park is open mid-May to mid-December. Late fall campers should be aware
that there is no running water in the campground from mid-October for the
remainder of the season.

canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. From this hilltop campground, and
the fire tower located there, you can get a complete view of the mountain
ranges in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Canada.
The
park, located ten miles north of Berlin, is open from June 20 to October 10,
2005. Reservations are not accepted; site availability is on a
first-come/first-served basis. Campers interested in pre-season,
first-come/first-served camping should call the Park Manager at nearby Moose
Brook State Park Campground (603-466-3860) in mid-May for further
information. The campground offers 10 campsites with flush toilets, showers,
and a potable water source.

Mollidgewock State Park lies along the shore of the Androscoggin River
within Thirteen Mile Woods Scenic Area, approximately 28 miles north of
Berlin and three miles south of Errol. The Androscoggin offers great
canoeing and kayaking opportunities for both novice and expert paddlers. The
area is a favorite of fishing enthusiasts and is popular for watching moose
and other wildlife.

Located near the
banks of the Androscoggin River, Nansen Wayside Park is a popular place for
picnicking, fishing, and boating. The park spans 14 acres and is the site of
the 170-foot steel-framed Nansen Ski Jump, seen towering over the area.
Nansen Wayside Park is open year-round and is free to the public. A boat
launch and pit toilets are available.
Umbagog Lake State Park Route 26

Umbagog Lake State Park is one of the newly acquired parks in the state
system. The Division began managing the park in 1998. The park includes a
base park campground with 35 sites with electrical and water hook-ups
available, three cabins, and 34 remote campsites in isolated locations
around Umbagog Lake accessible only by boat. The lake is 7,850 acres and has
60 miles of shoreline and is known for a pair of nesting eagles.
Moose and deer are often spotted.
The park offers a beach area for swimming, excellent fishing, wildlife
viewing, and boating. Canoe, kayak, rowboat, and motor boat rentals are
offered as well as transportation for remote site campers. A boat launch and
fuel sales are available, as well as a park store. The lake has brook and
brown trout, pickerel, salmon and yellow perch.
The park has a total of 69 campsites: The lakeside base area of the
campground has 35 sites, 2 of which are for first-come/first-served campers.
There are hook-ups for water and electricity for RVs, as well as a dump
station. Three cabins are also available in the base area for weekly and
nightly rentals. There are 34 remote sites generally isolated in wooded
areas and accessed by boat only. Each remote site has a fireplace, picnic
table, and a primitive pit toilet. These campsites are carry in/carry out -
there are no trash cans or trash pick-up.
The park offers transportation to the remote sites for a fee.

May 27 to October 10, 2005. Reservations for campsites may be made by
