The Fishlake National Forest occupies 1.4 million acres and offers great opportunities to view scenery and wildlife. The forest has 70 streams, 60 lakes/reservoirs, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking and mountain biking. The Tushar Mountains exceed 12,000 feet and offer great views, the SE corner offers red rock desert and the lower elevations are covered with juniper trees, sagebrush and pinion pine. Most visitors view the Forest while traveling by vehicle. Two scenic byways and several back ways transverse the Forest offering vistas. There are 1,920 miles of trails of particular interest is the Fish Lake Shore Trail and the Skyline Trail, both national recreation trails. The Forest Service offers a hiking guide for about $8.00. How to get there Fish Lake is located in south-central Utah along the Fishlake Scenic
Byway (U-25) 20 miles northeast of Loa via U-24 and U-25 (Open year-round) 35 miles northwest of Loa via U-72 and U-25 (Open May - October, weather permitting)
