The Blue Ridge Parkway follows the Appalachian Mountain chain and provides views of many parallel ranges and scattered hills. From Shenandoah National Park, the Parkway follows the Blue Ridge Mountains, the eastern part of the Appalachians, for 355 miles. For the last 114 miles, it circles the southern end of the  Black Mountains and ends in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
